HISTORY
The idea for the development of Computer
Medics of America®, Inc. was conceptualized
early in 1997 by John Francis while
living in the Seattle/Tacoma area of
Washington State where he performed
on-site service calls in his off hours
from his "real job". In July
of 1999 he moved to Eagle River, Alaska
and formed Computer Medics which he
operated full-time. That company served
the Anchorage, Eagle River and Mat-Su
Valley Communities.
By November, 2001, the business was
booming beyond what a single unit could
handle. With knowledge gained from past
experiences in hiring and supervising
employees, John made the decision that
the business would be best served by
a network of self-employed technicians
rather than hiring and supervising numerous
employees. The company began studying
the idea of selling Franchises in the
areas already being served in Alaska.
In order to expand, some major changes
needed to be made. The Company was incorporated
under the name Computer Medics of America®,
Inc., and in late 2002 the process of
marketing the business nationally began.
John still owns and operates the Eagle
River Franchise where he lives with
his wife and children.
Once Franchises began to take hold
in Alaska the expansion into the rest
of the United States and further was
just natural. We are currently in the
process of marketing & selling franchises
throughout the United States and Canada.
It is an exciting new franchise family
that we hope many people will consider
joining.
Although we are a Nationwide Company,
each Franchise is marketed as a small
local area business rather than a part
of a large Nationwide Company. Many
studies show that people are feeling
less satisfied with the services provided
by large companies. A small local business
that provides superior service builds
a reputation in their community quickly.
The smaller the community, the more
likely customers are going to keep their
money locally.
We pride ourselves in our involvement
in our local communities with various
organizations through contributions
of time, money and reduced rates to
Non-Profit Organizations such as Churches,
Community Centers, Schools, Youth Sports
Associations, etc.
We encourage all of our Franchise owners
to become active members of their respective
communities and to make contributions
from the business to various community
organizations. We must always remember
that the people in our communities are
not only our customers but our neighbors
and friends and that although we want
our businesses to prosper, it is also
our responsiblity as citizens of our
local communities to help to make them
a better place to live. |
